Our volunteers are truly dedicated and turn up every day rain, hail or shine (and we have had a bit of rain in the last few months!) to provide the animals in our care with not just the basics of food, water and medications but also to shower the animals with love and companionship...the thing that keeps most of our animals going whilst they wait for their second chance. Without the support of the volunteers and many hours of sheer hard work, the refuge would struggle to operate. We would like to extend a very special thankyou to you all and wish you the best festive season ever! Thankyou for treating our animals as your own and for providing them with a reason to stay happy whilst they wait for their new homes.
This year we saw an ever increasing rise in the costs associated with running the refuge and saving nearly 1000 animals each year. As a result of this we have revamped our public sponsorship program and introduced a business sponsors program! Sending out a big big thankyou to all of our existing pen sponsors who have renewed their pen sponsorship in December and also to any new members of the public who jumped on board with new pen sponsorships. Your continued support means we can continue to save and care for many many cats and dogs searching for their furever homes on the Sunshine Coast and surrounds.
Thanks also to all of our staff, members and Life members for your continued dedication and devotion to the refuge. Many of you have been with us for over a decade now. We wish you a safe and happy christams with your families and we will see you in the new year!
A very big thankyou going out to katie takes a picture who has been volunteering her time to keep the pictures of our animals flowing for facebook feeds! Big thankyou also to Trudy, one of our volunteers, who keeps our pictures on the website looking so great! Between the two of them we are very lucky to have such talented photographers donating their time! Thanks girls!
We would also like to extend a massive thankyou to the Sunshine Coast community who have opened their hearts and homes to our cats and dogs. They have continued to be an enormous support to the refuge in caring for all of our animals this year, filling up donations bins around the coast, donating towel, toys, linen and money, but most of all adopting our beautiful animals. This year we have rehomed over 400 cats / kittens and over 400 dogs and puppies. So far a total of 856 animals have found homes! This is up nearly 30 animals from last year!
